Join the Coats team as a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op and gain hands-on experience in mechanical design, testing, and validation of innovative products. This is a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers and contribute to the design and development process while strengthening your engineering skills in a manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Read, interpret, and understand engineering prints and specifications.
  • Compare dimensional reports with print dimensions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Generate and define critical dimensional tolerances for various components.
  • Organize and input test data and reports into an electronic database for tracking and analysis.
  • Set up and perform functional tests, documenting and reporting results in formal test reports.
  • Facilitate communication and flow of information across functional areas for approvals and decision-making.
  • Work closely with quality, purchasing, and operations teams to provide reports and clarify test results.
  • Must be a hands-on individual, capable of learning to change and balance tire assemblies using a variety of equipment.
  • Maintain positive, effective working relationships with all team members and departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must meet Coats Internship Program application requirements
  • Currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous intern or co-op experience in metal manufacturing, with sheet metal experience (forming, welding, assembly) being a plus
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems is a plus
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (Creo is a plus)
  • Proficiency in PC skills and MS Office applications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a hands-on mentality and problem-solving skills
  • Positive, proactive self-starter who thrives in a team-oriented environment
