Test Engineer II

This position is a mid-level test engineering role to support the design and development team through testing of component changes and product development based on detail specifications and metrics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Gather product requirements (e.e. functions, speed, end user, safety standards, Product and User environments, etc)
• Develop test specifications, environments, and test case for all mechanical, software, and electrical systems through detailed test plans.
• Run testing and validation on components and final products
• Analyze test results, identify issues, assist in determining root causes
• Make recommendations for fixes and improvements, based on in house testing and Field evaluation
• Document technical issues and solutions, and maintain these documents through searchable databases
• Build automated testing systems for development and production release, with detailed notes for future testing.
• Ensure our products and procedures meet industry standards (e.g. UL / CUL / CSA / FDA)
• Maintain positive and effective working relationships with all team members
• Lead DFMEA discussions

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 2-6 years of experience in test engineering / reliability engineering role.
• Must demonstrate strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of quality systems / reliability engineering as related to product design & qualification is desired.
• Knowledge of advanced testing methodologies with small sample sizes is desired
• Experience with Microsoft Excel required.
• Creative problem solver
• Creo/ CAD background (or equivalent) preferred
• MathCAD background or equivalent software for SPC documentation
• Demonstrated knowledge / experience with ASTM standards and requirements
