Key Responsibilities:
  • Source and procure direct materials essential for various departments within the organization, ensuring timely availability and optimal inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery of direct materials.
  • Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts and pricing terms to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide strategic procurement support and guidance.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers, monitor vendor performance, and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Evaluate market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.
  • Utilize procurement tools and systems to track purchases, manage budgets, and generate reports on procurement activities and performance.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and initiatives to support organizational goals and objectives.
  • Stay abreast of best practices in procurement, supply chain management, and industry trends to continuously enhance procurement processes and practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience (minimum of 7 years) in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a strong focus on direct materials procurement.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and procurement regulations.
  • Strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics and supplier landscapes.
  • Certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are highly desirable.
