Manager/Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to join our manufacturing team specializing in metal cutting, bending, welding, CNC machining, and complex assembly. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Tier 1 Automotive manufacturing, with a focus on Lean Manufacturing, scrap reduction, problem solving, and AIAG Core tools. This role will be integral in developing, implementing, and managing quality systems to ensure consistent production excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality Systems Management: Oversee and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with Marketing, Engineering and customer specific requirements.
  • Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Lead cross functional teams in the identification and resolution of quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques (8D, 5 Why, etc.).
  • AIAG Core Tools: Utilize APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC to ensure robust process and product quality.
  • Process Control: Establish and maintain Process FMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Flows for all manufacturing processes (cutting, bending, welding, CNC, assembly) to ensure consistent quality.
  • QMS Implementation: Conduct gap analysis and implement quality policies across a wide range of manufacturing disciplines.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met, conducting audits and driving improvements as necessary.
  • Training & Development: Provide training and mentorship to quality team members and production staff on quality standards, methodologies, and tools.
  • Customer Interfacing: Act as the primary quality contact for customers, ensuring that their requirements and expectations are met. External Quality
Critical Skills:
  • Advanced Problem-Solving Skills: Expertise in root cause analysis (5 Why, 8D, DMAIC) and corrective action planning.
  • Data Driven Decision Making: Strong ability to use statistical methods (SPC, DOE) for process improvement and problem resolution.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of managing cross functional teams and working with all levels of the organization.
  • Process Optimization: Experience in process mapping, continuous improvement, and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail in reviewing quality data, reports, and audits to ensure accurate and efficient processes.
  • Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality objectives are met.
  • Quality System Management: Experience conducting IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 gap analyses, and familiarity with QMS development and implementation for automotive manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in the use of quality software and ERP systems, Specifically SAP 4/Hana
  • Expertise with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawings reading.
Professional Certificates:
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) or Green Belt (ASQ or equivalent).
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) from ASQ (American Society for Quality).
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification or IATF 16949 Auditor Certification.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification or Lean Six Sigma.
  • APQP/PPAP/AIAG Core Tools Training.
Years of Work Experience: 
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership or managerial role. 
  • Strong experience in Tier 1 Automotive manufacturing is highly preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of metal cutting, bending, welding, CNC machining, and complex assembly processes.
  • Proven track record of implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Strong experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficient in using AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
  • Experience conducting IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 gap analyses and implementing corrective actions.

 Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. 
  •  Master’s degree is a plus.
