Join our team as a Summer Co-op in the Quality Area, where you will play a key role in supporting manufacturing efforts to reduce process variation, improve plant efficiency, and enhance product quality for our customers. This hands-on position offers valuable experience in process improvement and quality control while contributing to the success of our manufacturing operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review returned warranty parts, categorize issues, perform data entry, breakdown data, & perform data analysis.
Assist in continuous improvement activities within the plant (kaizen).
Collect and analyze data to identify process improvements, implementing poka-yoke (error-proofing) solutions or standardizing processes as needed.
Collaborate with design engineering, service, quality engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must meet the Coats Internship Program application requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Must have completed Sophomore or higher progression required.
Experience with Microsoft Excel & spreadsheets required
Ability to work independently with limited direction and supervision
Solid communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Must be hands on and proactive.
Physical ability to lift tire assemblies (30-50 lbs) for testing of wheel balancing equipment
Must have own transportation
